As our first blog post, we welcome you to the PSS community. No matter your experience level, Whether first-timers or seasoned veterans, we have one main goal as preppers: to prepare for the unexpected. While reading this blog post, it's essential to understand why you started prepping in the first place and set an end goal. This will determine how you prep, what skillsets you need to hone, and what equipment/supplies you will obtain.
So, What is prepping? Preparing for emergencies and disasters, or prepping, continues to grow in popularity as people seek to become more self-reliant and secure in an increasingly uncertain world. Prepping offers a sense of control and peace of mind for those who take it seriously, whether during natural disasters, social unrest, economic collapse, or other emergencies.
For many, prepping begins with a simple desire to be better prepared for unexpected events. With natural and man-caused disasters occurring more frequently and with greater intensity, more people want to be ready for them. Those of us who take such events seriously see prepping as ensuring we have the supplies, skills, and knowledge we need to survive and recover from them.
Prepping also provides financial and physical security by making us less dependent on the whims of commercial supply chains or government support. We aim to be self-sufficient and provide for ourselves and our families even in the worst times.
Prepping can also be seen as a form of insurance. While no one wants to think about disasters, they are a fact of life. By preparing ahead of time, preppers can reduce the impact of a disaster and minimize its long-term effects. Those of us who live in areas where natural disasters are common are well aware of this. We ensure we have food, water, other essentials, and the skills to survive and recover from long- and short-term events.
Most of all, prepping is a community. We may come from all walks of life, but we share the common goal of being prepared for emergencies. At PSS, Our goal is to bring together various groups, both online and in person, to share information, support each other, and, when possible, pool resources.
As this blog grows, so will our community. With a community comes a greater resource pool. As part of our community, we encourage open dialogue and the free flow of ideas. If you would like to contribute to our blog, please don't hesitate to contact us!
